Methyl violet is a triphenylmethane dye. It is a mixture of tetra-, penta-and hexa-pararosaniline methyl esters. Methyl violet 2B is a mixture of polymethylated (4, 5, and 6) parafuchsin.
I. Production method introduction preparation method: (1)4,4 '-bis (dimethylamino) condensation of benzophenone with N,N-dimethylaniline and PCl 3; (2) reaction of N,N-dimethylaniline with phosgene in the presence of ZnCl 2; (3) reaction of BIS (dimethylamino) diphenylmethanol with N,N-dimethylaniline was condensed and the product obtained was further oxidized.
