During the nitration of anthraquinone, 1,5-dinitroanthraquinone and 1,8-dinitroanthraquinone are simultaneously generated. The total nitration yield is over 95%, of which 1,5-dinitroanthraquinone accounts for 75% and 1,8-dinitroanthraquinone accounts for about 20%. After separation, two products are obtained.
